Dick Lipton has been selected to receive this year's Class of 1934 Distinguished Professor Award. He will receive the award at the Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon and will be asked to deliver the summer commencement address.
This award recognizes sustained outstanding achievement in teaching, research and service, and is the highest award given to a faculty member. The award includes a stipend of $20,000. It is presented to a currently active professor who has made significant, long-term contributions in teaching, research, and public service. It is expected that such contributions would have brought wide-spread recognition to the professor, to his/her School and to the Institute.
