We are delighted to announce that Abhishek Dhawan (ACO PhD 2024) is the winner of the 2024 ACO Outstanding Student Prize!
The selection committee consisting of Josephine Yu (chair, School of Math), Mohit Singh (ISyE) and Jan van den Brand (School of Computer Science), provided the following citation:
The 2024 ACO Outstanding Student Prize is awarded to Abhishek Dhawan for his significant contributions to graph theory, algorithms, and statistics. Dhawan obtained his PhD in ACO in 2024 under the supervision of Anton Bernshteyn and Cheng Mao. Dhawan obtained fundamental results and developed versatile tools across a broad range of topics, including independent sets and colorings in graphs, hypergraphs, and Borel graphs, as well as statistical estimation algorithms.
